Photography - the artistic outlet for an analytic mind. Long an admirer of fine art of all types, photography allows me to redirect investigative thought into creative expression. While I enjoy many genres within photography, I’m most drawn to long exposure and night photography. Photography is the capture of light. Capturing light when it is fleeting, watching the world change from light to dark, allows me to use technology to see what the observant eye might see in stillness, and what the pocket camera cannot. As I travel the world, I enjoy seeing what everyone else sees during the day, but there is a magic in what happens when light fades, as often sound & activity fades too. That serene stillness allows me to connect with my surroundings, forced by a long exposure to see the shot before it is captured and take in the changing light with the same patience as the shutter.
